Bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery from Munich University in Germany in 1966, Diploma in Pediatrics from Cairo University in Egypt in 1973 and Fellowship in Pediatrics from Edinburgh University in United Kingdom in 1982.

Experience

Dr. Alsuwailem worked as a doctor at Schweinfurt Hospital in Germany from 1966 to 1968, at Cambridge University Medical Center from 1968 to 1969 and at Gunzenhausen Hospital in Germany from 1969 to 1973. From 1974 to 1982, Mr. Alsuwailem served as Head of Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital in Riyadh before being appointed Deputy Undersecretary of Medicine at the Ministry of Health in 1983, a position that he held until 1989. He also served as Undersecretary of Executive Affairs at the Ministry of Health from 1989 to 1997 and as Head of the Saudi Red Crescent Society from 1997 to 2005. Since 2005, Mr. Alsuwailem has served as member of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia (Shoura Council).
